This page shows the start of construction of a 3/4 Bed Dormer Bungalow at LoundSide, Chapeltown S35 2UR, (Plot 3) by Self Build New Homes
The New Homes will have the benefit of a NHBC 10 year Buildmark Cover giving the owners peace of mind that if any major defects are found or appear, they will be rectified free of charge for upto a period of 10 years!.

Foundation (Kicker) Blocks Laid

Where Drainage pipes exit through external walls, cut boards are positioned and then Bends or Pipes are backfilled with Pea Gravel

After drainage runs are backfilled, Visqueen is laid ready for Oversite Concrete

Oversite Concrete 4-6 inch thick is laid

Oversite Concrete finished ready for internal DPC course and floor Joist's

Soil mountain taken away, levels reduced, joist now being fitted

Joist fitted ready to be nogged out (bracing)

Additional DPC (internal Tanking) to protect Joist ends and from penetrating Damp

Lapped DPC goes on every side all round as an internal Tanking effect

Drainage Pipe runs being laid
Blocks loaded out and stonework started, ongoing drainage runs being sorted

Preperation for French Drain, Bitumin type Paint solution applied to Blockwork below finished ground level
Bitumin Solution all round Base of House ready for Bituthene (Sticky back Bitumin sheets)

Bituthene applied with 100mm overlaps to painted Blockwork

Perforated (French) Drain pipe laid next to wall

Trench filled with Pea Gravel covering Drain to take away any underground water
